Before you write

What to include so we can actually help.

Most questions that reach us are about a heal in progress, and the answer almost always depends on details we cannot guess. If you are writing about a tattoo, tell us roughly how many days out you are, what your artist wrapped it with, what you have been putting on it, and what specifically is worrying you. That turns a two-day back-and-forth into a single reply.

If it is about an order, the order number in the subject line is enough — we can see everything else from there. For a return or an exchange, say what you would like to happen rather than only what went wrong, and we will usually just do it. The full terms are on the shipping and returns page.

A fair share of what lands in the inbox is already answered in the tattoo aftercare FAQ — how often to apply, how long a jar lasts, what is in it, what to do when a tattoo goes cloudy. It is worth thirty seconds before you write, and it is a faster answer than we can give you.

Three inboxes

Why we split them up.

A shop asking about trade pricing and a customer asking whether their tattoo is healing normally need very different answers from very different people, so they go to different places. Anything about an order, a product or a heal goes to the customer address. Studios and artists wanting to stock InkLube should use the wholesale address, or apply directly through the wholesale page — that is faster than emailing, because the application already asks everything we need.

Distributors working a territory should go through the distributor program instead. Journalists, podcasters and anyone writing about the brand should use the press address; logos, product photography and approved brand language are already sitting on the press kit page, no request needed.

One thing worth saying plainly: we are not medical professionals and nothing we send back is medical advice. If a tattoo is hot to the touch, weeping days after it should have settled, spreading redness outward, or you are running a fever, do not wait for an email from us — see a doctor.

Reaching us

How to contact InkLube.

Contact InkLube — a jar of the plant-oil tattoo aftercare cream

The fastest way to contact InkLube is the address that matches your reason — customer questions, wholesale, or press. All three are read by people who work on the product rather than an outsourced support desk, which is why the answers tend to be specific rather than templated.

Typical turnaround is same day on weekdays and next working day at weekends. If something is genuinely urgent about a healing tattoo, say so in the subject line and we will jump it.

And if you are weighing up whether something needs a doctor rather than an email, the FDA fact sheet on tattoos and permanent makeup sets out the reactions that are genuinely worth acting on.

If none of the three addresses obviously fits, use the customer one and we will route it internally. The fastest way to contact InkLube about anything urgent is still email rather than social — messages sent to contact InkLube accounts on Instagram or TikTok get seen eventually, but the inbox is what we actually work from each morning.
