This page used to carry a wall of customer quotes. We took them down, because we could not stand behind them.

What was here before

The previous version of this page featured named customers with jobs and cities, a seven-day study we supposedly ran, and a line claiming that healing with our product was "no longer a gamble, it's a guarantee." None of it was real. It was written by an agency to fill a page, and we left it up longer than we should have.

So here is the actual position.

Where we really are

InkLube is a small, young brand. We have had a modest number of orders, most of them from people who found us through search rather than through anyone's recommendation. We do not have a bank of reviews yet, and inventing some would be both illegal and a strange way to start a relationship with someone about to put a product on an open wound.

The FTC is clear on this, and we agree with them: a testimonial has to come from a real customer describing a real experience. We would rather have an empty page than a fake one.

What we will tell you instead

We can be specific about the things that are verifiable, because they are facts about the jar rather than claims about outcomes:

  • It is a plant-oil balm with beeswax. That means it is not vegan, and we say so everywhere rather than hoping nobody checks.
  • There is no petroleum in it, no lanolin, and no added fragrance. The faint herbal smell comes from the botanicals themselves.
  • It is mixed in small batches. Lot numbers are on the packaging.
  • It is a moisturiser for healing skin. It is not a drug, it does not treat anything, and your body does the healing.

The full ingredient breakdown, including why each thing is in there, is on this page.

If you have used it

We would genuinely like to hear how it went, including if it did not go well. The useful version is specific: where the tattoo was, how heavy the session was, what your skin is normally like, what the healing actually looked like, and whether anything about the product annoyed you. "Felt nice" tells us nothing. "Day four it was still cracking across my elbow" tells us something we can act on.

You can reach us through the contact page. If we publish anything you send, we will ask you first, we will not invent a job title for you, and we will not edit it to sound better than you meant it.

Why bother saying all this

Because the tattoo aftercare category is full of invented social proof, and anyone who has shopped it for more than five minutes can feel that. Our bet is that a brand willing to say "we do not have reviews yet" is worth more than one with fifty testimonials from people who do not exist.

Ask us a direct question and you will get a direct answer. That is the whole offer until we have earned more.
